We are pleased to invite you to our sixth interactive online workshop on Making Your Data FAIR, presented by Stefano Rapisarda from the Utrecht University Library. This session will focus on practical FAIR assessment using the F-UJI tool, an automated tool developed for the GEO-inquire consortium to evaluate the FAIRness of digital research objects. The workshop will not only introduce the tool but also discuss strategies for improving data and software FAIRness in research workflows.
In modern research, ensuring that data and software are Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR) is essential for transparency, collaboration, and long-term usability. The FAIR principles provide a framework for improving the quality and accessibility of research outputs, but applying them in practice remains a challenge for many researchers.
This workshop will provide practical guidance on how to assess the FAIRness of research products and implement improvements. The session will begin with an overview of FAIR principles and their importance, followed by an introduction to the F-UJI tool, a web-based tool designed to automate the evaluation of FAIR compliance. We will explore the tool’s features, common FAIR assessment challenges, and actionable steps to enhance the FAIRness of datasets and software.
Key Takeaways
- A clear understanding of how the F-UJI tool works and how to effectively apply it to your research outputs.
- An overview of key guidelines and best practices for making your research products as FAIR as possible, including metadata quality, accessibility standards, and data interoperability.
- Practical strategies for integrating FAIR principles into research workflows and fostering a culture of FAIRness within your research community.
- Insights into the long-term value of FAIR research practices, including improved data reuse, enhanced research visibility, and compliance with open science policies.
- An opportunity to ask questions and discuss common challengees
Join us for this hands-on workshop series on understanding and implementing the FAIR principles. We look forward to your participation.
